The British Spitfire was the First HUD

Did you know that the first Head-up Display (HUD) was the WWII-era British Spitfire airplane? This HUD calculated the trajectory for bullets in air-to-air combat and overlaid an aim-point. This innovation allowed pilots to improve their firing accuracy and helped the British turn the tide of the war.
