Start ups: Getting up close and personal

Laser-based light sources and proprietary algorithms create augmented reality (AR) holographic heads up displays (HUDs) for automotive applications, writes Caroline Hayes.

Based in Milton Keynes, Envisics split from the augmented reality (AR) specialist, Daqri, in 2018, to work with vehicle manufacturers and tier one automotive suppliers.

The dual image plane technology provides depth and breadth to images without consuming heat and energy in the space-constrained vehicle design.
